Website Cost in Sri Lanka: A Scope & Budget Guide

A useful website quote explains what you receive, what you need to supply and what costs continue after launch. Start with the job your website must do, then compare the same scope across proposals.

What does a small-business website cost?

Liquid Flame Design’s current starting scope is LKR 35,000 for one page with up to six sections, using your supplied text and images. It includes a mobile-friendly layout, contact links, an enquiry form, basic search metadata and two consolidated revision rounds. This is our starting offer, rather than a market-wide average.

Each additional standard page using the agreed design is LKR 7,500. Optional editable content / CMS starts at LKR 20,000; writing for the first page is LKR 5,000. Check the live pricing and estimate for the current scope before requesting a written quote.

Match the page count to your customer’s questions

A one-page site can suit an individual or a business with one clear offer. Separate service pages become useful when customers need different explanations, examples or enquiry paths for each service. Adding pages without a purpose creates more content to maintain.

List the information a buyer needs: what you offer, who it is for, examples of work, your process and how to contact you. An exporter may also need product specifications and buyer enquiries; a local service business may need service areas and booking details. Scope those needs before choosing a package.

Compare like-for-like quotes

  • Design: how many pages and sections are included, and is the layout shared or individually designed?
  • Content: who writes, edits and supplies photography? Is translation part of the quote?
  • Editing: can your team update content, and which sections are editable?
  • Features: are forms, booking systems or integrations included and tested?
  • Handover: who owns the domain, accounts and agreed files, and what support follows launch?

Ask for exclusions and revision limits in writing. A lower initial price can cover a smaller scope, so compare deliverables before comparing totals.

Separate setup costs from renewal costs

Domain registration, hosting, paid licences and applicable taxes are separate from the starting website scope. Ask for renewal dates, who pays each supplier and what happens if a subscription ends. Ongoing content updates and website care should have their own agreed workload.

Online payments and store functionality are also excluded from the starter website estimate. If you need to sell products, use the ecommerce launch checklist and request a store-specific quote.

Prepare a brief that makes the quote useful

  1. Describe your business, audience and main enquiry or sales goal.
  2. List the pages, products and features you need at launch.
  3. Identify existing text, images, brand files and account access.
  4. State who approves the work and who maintains the site.
  5. Share your target launch date and budget range.

Content readiness, review time and feature complexity affect the schedule. Ask for a delivery plan based on your actual brief instead of assuming every site has the same timeline.

Check the work behind the proposal

Review the N & P Focus responsive website example and other Liquid Flame Design projects to assess the type of work we produce. Design examples show delivery; they do not establish revenue or ranking results unless those results are separately documented.

Turn the brief into a clear scope

Tell us what your business needs, what is ready and where you need help. We will agree deliverables and costs before work begins.
